Tips & hints
- Avoid eating food at unhygienic locations. Look for "Clean Food and Good Taste"
- Don't drink tap water
- Buy a local SIM card for your phone (very cheap) so you can easily stay in touch with each other
- Please use your travel agent or your hotel desk when buying tours
- Roadside vendors might be cheap, but not necessarily safe and insured
- Taxi's, Tuk Tuk's, Hire Cars, Motorbikes, and Jet Skis - re-confirm rates before hiring, and check if they have insurance
- Thai greetings such as Hi, Hello, How are you? Welcome, Good morning and goodbye are addressed as "Sawasdee"
- When you address someone in Thai, you should end each sentence with "Krab" if you are a man; and "Ka" if you are a woman. For example "Sawasdee Ka" is the way women say hello in Thai; and "Sawasdee Krab" is the way men say hello in Thai.
